Jackson Capital USA

Common Questions

The Firm

What does Jackson Capital do?

We arrange financing for commercial equipment purchases. We review the transaction, package the file, and work with third-party lenders, who make the credit decision and provide the funds.

Are you a bank or a lender?

No. Jackson Capital arranges financing and is not a lender. The lender makes the credit decision and funds the transaction.

Are you licensed?

Yes. Jackson Capital USA LLC holds California Financing Law License No. 60DBO-218170, issued by the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, and NMLS Company ID 2824312. Licensing and compliance.

Do you finance personal or consumer purchases?

No. We work only with businesses, for equipment used commercially.

Financing

What equipment do you finance?

Hard assets used in the operation of a business — manufacturing, machine tools, medical, yellow iron, construction, agriculture, transportation, and material handling. Equipment outside those categories is still worth a conversation. What we finance.

How large are the transactions you work on?

Most transactions fall between $25,000 and $500,000.

Why finance equipment instead of paying cash?

Many businesses finance to keep cash available for payroll, inventory, hiring, or the next opportunity. The question is less whether a business can pay cash than whether that is the best use of it.

I have never financed equipment before. Is that a problem?

No. We start with the equipment, approximate cost, timing, and basic information about the business, and explain what follows from there.

Applying

What do you need to get started?

The equipment, the vendor if there is one, approximate purchase price, timing, and basic information about the business.

Does applying affect credit?

Credit review begins with a soft pull, which does not affect the applicant's credit score. Any hard inquiry comes from the lender, after the applicant chooses to move forward.

How does the process work?

One application. We review the equipment, the business, and the timing, then assemble the file and work it with lenders suited to it. A lender may approve, decline, or counter. On an approval worth pursuing, documents and conditions are completed and the lender pays the vendor.

How long does it take?

It depends on the size and complexity of the transaction. Smaller, straightforward files move quickly; larger or more involved ones take more documentation and underwriting. We would rather give a realistic timeline once we understand the transaction than a number before.

What rate can you get?

Rate depends on the equipment, transaction size, business profile, credit, term, and structure. Quoting a number before those are known would be guessing. Final rates and terms are set by the lender.

Can you guarantee approval?

No. Third-party lenders make the credit decision. What we can do is understand the file, present it properly, and work the options available.

Vendors and Dealers

Do you work with equipment vendors?

Yes. We develop financing programs for equipment vendors, dealers, and manufacturers. Vendor programs.
